Geometric Paper Stitching Workshop

Come and play with pattern and colour while stitching on to card. Paper stitching is a fun and relaxing way to embellish postcards, upcycle old greeting cards, and transform photos and artwork with texture and colour.

Threads and card will be provided, but if you have some cards or heavy paper of your own you would like to use, feel free to bring them with you.

Each participant will go away with their cards created during the session and some printed templates for playing with additional stitching at home.

Materials and light refreshments included.

  • Price: £18 per participant for 4-10 participants.

  • Who it’s for: Ages 14+

  • Length: 2 hours.

Sunshine Stewart - My Mama Knits

Hi – I’m Sunshine, the indie yarn dyer behind My Mama Knits. I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I grew up surrounded by crafty types both in family and friends, and later studied Art and Art History at the University of NM. I made Scotland my home in 2004 and as an avid multi-crafter continue to be inspired by the nature, history and cultures of both places. Along with being the occasional workshop lead, you will most likely find me at Birkhill over excited while extracting and recording colour in the Dye Garden, quietly loving on one of the animals, or openly encouraging others to experiment with all manner of crafts.
